Charity Fund
Charity Fund for 2024
The goal going into this year was to exceed the $1,100 we contributed last year... By mid season, it was clear we would exceed this target and so as we entered the final weeks of our golf season, we increased out charity fund target to $1,500.
To further boost our contribution, the committee decided to run a Charity Raffle after our last tournament. This was a new endeavor on the part of our association and fortunately, it turned out to be a big success... Six baskets filled with attractive gifts, were arranged and offered as prizes during the raffle and when everything was totaled up... the Charity fund achieved $2,500... Many, many thanks to all who continue to support & contribute to this worthy cause...
As a reward for winning the Memorial Cup, Tim Jordan selected the Inglis House for disabled adults as our Charity target this year... The following link is to the letter we received from the Inglis House in recognition for a charity contribution. Here

Message from Shawn Sarbacker:
Thank you so much for all your generous donations to our “ForkALS” team this year--together we raised an amazing $30,000 to fight ALS.
Your donation will target the following areas as we attempt to move the needle in the battle against this awful disease:
Extensive patient care and support in the greater Philadelphia area
Advocacy resulting in the passing of #ActForALS into federal law which will accelerate promising new therapies for ALS patients
Pressing the FDA to quickly approve only the 3rd therapy for ALS (AMX0035)
Support for research and clinical trials with an unprecedented 80+ promising new therapies in the pipeline. . .your donations help them get to the finish line
Meanwhile I joined a long tradition of ALS patient-advocates, teaming up with the Massachusetts General Hospital Sean M. Healey Center for ALS to fundraise towards making experimental ALS therapies broadly available to eligible ALS patients through Expanded Access Programs (EAPs). My fundraising project is called “TechVsALS”. The TechVsALS team is happy to join our friends at the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia in the Walk to Defeat ALS and are excited to use this as our team name this year!
